DVI / HDMI cable for laptop to projector?
UPS Im debating a lot of set-for my next home theater system. I have a sager np9262 "DVI" and I found 2 projectors with a big difference in price. The Optoma HD65 / HD803 The 65 has multiple inputs, it doesn't only have a DVI input. Running around 1,000 bones. 803 is compatible with DVI only 2 G's. I was watching the variety of cables, DVI / HDMI, for example. The main question is, if I went with the 65 and use the DVI to HDMI cable from the laptop to the projector. Is the audio going to the projector, or not? I'm perplexed, because Im going to connect the plug audio output to a home theater surround sound system "Cerwin Vega" yay! I hope this makes sense to most of you. I want the DVI output of my laptop, and keep my sound output to use it to my stereo. Typically, companies sound HDMI video source ... If I am correct. I do not like any of these projectors, but 803 is 1920x1080, and 65 is only 1280x720. If I had to choose between the two, would be the 803 all day every day. If you want a choice between them, I would go with the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 1080. Do not do noise. HDMI to a projector can be with or without sound - does not matter.
