How do I connect a home theater system to a television without audio output, but it has speaker jacks?
Here is my problem, I bought a home theater, Wal-Mart and I think I could have bought the wrong one. (I can not return it, has been too long) My TV has speakers that are external and are connected to something like this: This is not http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/images/G13930B.jpg tv audio output, apart from the wires like that, that's where you're screwed. The home theater includes the following as the TV input: (Note: one at the bottom, the Network and the entry blank) http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a327/Hi_Ho/AudioConnections. jpg My equipment: ~ 42 "Plasma TV Magnivox ~ RCA Home Theater (RT2770) Can anyone tell me how to connect it, I have tried my local radio shack and has a wire that I have manipulated to fit both ends, but nothing comes. The output Your TV is an amplification level speaker output. Under no circumstances should you attempt to connect to line level inputs on your receiver. His problem is getting audio sound system. Just connect the audio from all sources directly to your surround sound system. You can connect the video from these sources at different inputs on the TV or you can use the receiver as a power switch video in one of the inputs on your TV. If one of your sources becomes analog cable just use a VCR, stereo and TV tuner when you want to hear surround sound. Connect an audio output of the VCR directly to the sound system.
