Anyone have screenshots of a DVD, converting sound into a Blu-Ray versus an actual Blu-Ray?
I know that the Blu-Rays look better, no matter what, I was just curious if anyone had side by side comparisions, making the sound of a DVD and Blu-Ray Blu-Ray disc itself.
There are some comparison images in AVS Forum (last link) ... but the images in the 1st and 2nd link (the first is the DVD vs. Blu-ray and the second is DVD vs. HD-DVD ... but Blu-ray and HD DVD are nearly identical) are one of the most effective ways to tell the difference. The vertical white line can be dragged to the left or the right to show the difference. HD is clearer / sharper ... but not necessarily by as much as many people expect, and can vary with the movie ... As indicated by the dual system of rating the quality of Blu-ray (3 links). Blu-ray, as you say, Upconvert DVD, the quality, but it varies. The PS3 and the Sony BDP upconverters other players are mediocre in relation to, for example, some of the Pioneer players (eg-51FD). That said, the differences observed in these links is likely slightly different from Blu-ray vs. DVD converted ... but not be greater.
