Overall Speaker Bose are mediocre at best ... and very expensive. Its purpose is its massive advertising budget to the gullible. I personally would not touch Bose. Bose get the sound they make (the reasonable maximum, but lower midrange) for such small speakers, only because the massive input signal is matched. As far as I am aware of these two sets double cube speaker, while they could be connected to any surround sound amplifier, are essentially useless without the equalizer that is built into the module bass that is intended to be part of the system (but apparently not included). So, I definitely avoid both. See the article on the link on the 1st Bose. There are many good alternatives to Bose. See the 2nd link for some of the recommended options in different price ranges ... some even less expensive than the range of $ 500 that apparently are high.
