How high above the left ear and right surrounds should be placed in Dolby Digital 5.1?
I've heard of this website http://www.audioholics.com/tweaks/speaker-setup-guidelines/home-theater-speaker-layout-an-essential-guide that the optimal design should be 2 meters or more above ear level! Fortunately I am in a stable so that I can do that, but obviously most people might not want aesthetics and all, but ..... any other opinions surround placement.
From experience I can say it is better to keep pace with ear when you're on the couch so you can hear everything. I am using SPDIF out of my pc and the receiver is in music mode DTS 6, I think is in the best scenario for films. For music always switch to STEREO mode
