What resolution size you suggest for a projector with DVD / game for a home theater?
I would like to create a home theater as a surprise for my husband's return home from abroad, but do not really know what to look for. I would use a movie projector from the project and possibly ps3 on a projection screen 5 feet wide in a very dark room in my house, and the seat will be about 10 feet from the display. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The main thing for you to consider is your budget. Try to fix in your mind how much they want to spend, total in its set-up. Already have the PS3 to take into account (what you right now?). The PS3 can play Blu-ray, so it already has the whole high def source. There were problems with LCD projectors older models, with a "screen door effect". This was cleared in the most recent models. DLP projectors also had a "rainbow" effect problem, but has been largely clarified. So, while staying within your budget, just look around for the projector (LCD or DLP) that best fits your needs. There are many models (both kinds), found that less than $ 600 and the new brand.
