Air Surround Home Theater Speaker System

I am looking to buy a surround sound of my living room. I found a yamaha air surround sound system home theater. It has a central unit and 1 subwoofer. He claims this will create a surround sound speaker system as a multiple. I do not want to mount on the walls, so that looks great, but what they actually do the trick? You are right - and a large center speaker trying to take the place of the 5 speakers really need the center-wall placement, and UN-broken side walls and a rear wall to work.
