The protagonist of the story, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) is a former Marine who was injured and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. Jake is selected to participate in the program of "Avatar," allowing it to walk. Jake goes to Pandora, a lush forest covered the full moon with alien life forms unbelievable some beautiful, many frightening. Pandora is also the home of Na'vi, a humanoid race sensitive, which are considered primitive, but are more physically able humans. Standing nine feet high (about 10 feet), with the tail and bright blue skin, the Na'vi live in harmony with their world intact. As human more humans encroach on the forests of Pandora in search of valuable minerals, the Na'vi unleash their formidable warrior skills to defend their existence threatened.

In the future, Jake, a paraplegic war veteran is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by Na'vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. After establishing contact with him finds himself battling humankind alongside the planet Na'vi indigenous race in this ambitious digital 3-D epic science fiction of the Academy Award-winning Titanic director James Cameron. Australian actor Sam Worthington star as the reluctant human settler Jake Sully, with the actress Zoë Saldaña firm, to submit to the local woman who enters a romantic relationship with the hero. The revolutionary movement capture system created for the movie allows the facial expressions of actors to be captured as a virtual camera system that allows them to see what their computer-generated counterparts shown in film.

Over time, Jake is integrated himself in the Na'vi clan, and begins to fall in love with Neytiri. As a result, Jake finds himself caught between the military industrial forces of the Earth and Na'vi, forcing him to take sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of an entire world. He stunned the audience when he chooses.

Avatar was originally set for launch on 22 May 2009, during filming, but the film was delayed to December 16, 2009. This was done to allow more post-production time and also to allow more time for theaters worldwide to install 3D projectors. The aspect ratio of 1.85:1 the film in 3D, but a CinemaScope (2.35:1) format will be extracted for 2D projections. Avatar also released in IMAX 3D. The first photograph of the film was released on 14 August 2009, and Empire Magazine will release the exclusive images of the film in its October issue.
