DVD Home Theater Set-up?
Hello, looking for a test DVD to set / optimize my home theater. I had something similar to Hi-Fi : A CD with many short tracks to check quickly and completely speakers and amplifiers. Do you know if there will be similar to smtg home theaters (DVD tracks scene of action, music, sports, special thanks FX, etc, etc) to optimize my settings? and all the best, Thanks a lot Pascal Papaj, certainly have much less money than on my computer:). I just got a Yamaha YSP 800 with "virtual" surround sound, and I plan to make adjustments by ear, so ... once. Because I have a room Funky, I need to manually adjust the value obtained through AutoCal. Having a DVD with all sorts of possible sounds definitely speed up the process!
Rent a DVD that is THX approved and have a THX test disc, you can access it via the menu. I think you can test the surround sound levels, the placement phase and some evidence of color too. I'm not sure what they are THX disk, or check out rentals are the THX logo or do a Google search. If you want to buy a test disc I think there is one called "Sound Essentials" must be available at Best Buys. PS: I have over 7 thousand dollars of home theater and make all adjustments by ear.
