I have lines on top of the screen. They cover about the first full 2 inches of my screen. The mouse goes underneath them. They do not appear to boot my computer. First become visible in the registration screen. They start popping up slowly and then form a large black and blue mass. This is a Dell Latitude laptop, but this is not the original LCD. The first one was broken and replaced with a non Dell LCD 3 months. Any idea what this might be?

His may be the graphics card because you have no problems until Windows loads its driver. Try uninstalling the graphics card and reinstall it. First right-click my computer icon on your desktop or start menu. Scroll down and select Properties, click the Hardware tab at the top of this window. Left click the Device Manager button. turn left, right click display adapters, right graphics card ckick scroll down and select Uninstall. A confirmation window will appear device removal, click "OK". After the device is uninstalled Click any device in Device Manager and select scan list again hardware. Window then you must find your device and reinstall it. After this is completed restart the computer and hope that you should not have more problems. If this doesn't work go to Dell and see drvers get different. or you could try repacing the RAM on your computer. Last resort would be, obviously, the graphics card itself.
