Why no TV / LCD HDTV come with integrated digital TV tuner?
I'm looking to replace my old CRT TV had recently broken its speakers (everything crackles). I am aware of the transition to DTV, so I want to find a TV with a DTV tuner. The only problem is that most of them are CRT monitors, I'm beginning to switch to LCDs. Are HDTVs with digital TV tuners built in? Thanks, your answers are always appreciated!
(This response is assumed to be located in the USA) By definition, all HDTVs has an ATSC digital tuner. Please include a digital tuner that would be an "HD ready" TV or an HD monitor. All televisions manufactured after of 2 / 2007 requires ATSC digital tuners built into them, usually the difference in the DTV and HDTV is the resolution of how much the display screen has. The DTV economic tube normally can only display 480 lines horizontal, just like the old analog televisions. HDTVs must show at least 720 horizontal lines. Most TVs with an ATSC tuner also have a (cable TV QAM) tuner. But there have been some developments the cheap ones left off the QAM.
