What is the best receiver to start a home theater system with? (Remote computer screen reading)?
I am finishing my basement and collect a media center ... I have a 52 "Sony Bravia TV and a" Panasonic Blue Ray player. "I need a decent receiver (Onkyo?) and have AM / FM? Can I get a remote to control everything? (viewing distance). speakers? (Bose?)
Receivers: It depends on what your definition 'Best' is. You can spend over $ 5000 for a Yamaha RX-Z11 or similar Onkyo and Denon receivers. However, these receptors are emblematic of the operation of recreation areas, each with several thousand dollars in equipment. I recommend looking at the Onkyo, Marantz, Pioneer Elite, Denon, Yamaha and receivers cost between $ 800 and $ 1700. Stay away from Sony unless they have the features I listed. Look for features such as HDMI upconversion NO gateway devices, microphone for automatic setting (YPAO Call on Yamaha receivers, for example), and HD decoders (Dolby True HD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD), as these decoders are having to do with the audio on Blu-ray. The greater the power does not always mean stronger, but the greater the power of the best quality sound will be as the volume increases. Speakers: Look for higher end Polk and Klipsch, Cerwin Vega, Martin Logan, Definitive Technology, and Bower & Wilkins (B & W). Subwoofers bigger: not always better. You do not want low Boomy. I recommend Supercude Definitive Technology Series, Sunfire, JL audio. Remember, subwoofers to be placed at the corners of a room. I also recommend getting some nice big towers for the front started. They are not cheap (expect to pay $ 1200 - $ 2000 for a pair), but constitute the bulk of what we hear from music in general is in stereo, and most of the action (not verbal) movie sound comes from the front right and left. (Most audio spoken by the center channel speaker). For surround speakers, if you are still in the planning stages of this room to think of the wall or ceiling speakers are really great because it doesn't seem hidden and make the room look cluttered. Remote: A remote computer should work with almost any brand of receiver I have listed. Radio: All listings have receptors for AM / FM. Bose?: I'm not going to preach, but stay away from Bose. Just trust me on this one. Period. Bottom Line: Do some research, then go to a store of high-end audio. Usually not a string, although you may be able to find some people with expertise in acute care centers or Magnolia. Tell them what you're looking to do. See what they recommend. Do not let pressure too much more expensive than you're willing to spend. Go home and do research on the computer that was recommended. Be sure to go to several different stores. Most shops just tell you about the brands of equipment they sell. So it's important not to make a decision until you go home and research.
