I have solid and interconnections speaker cable, but I was perplexed by the idea that the power cord that came with your power supply and preamplifier is somehow inadequate. It looks like another thing to try to market and sell to innocent fans an expensive hobby.
I agree. In my opinion, if a power cord may make an audible difference would be only if everything else was absolutely perfect ... which it never is. Assuming (a big assumption) that all electronic devices are right, before a power cord may have an audible effect that power would be Pristeen ... requires a power conditioner for several thousand dollars. And this ignores the much greater impact on the resonances of the room, etc, that unless you have perfectly tuned room with bass traps, the absorption panels, etc. will not be the case. Expecting an improvement of an acoustic power cord is like expecting the leather seats make a car accelerate faster when the windows are open! I can think of dozens of ways to better benefit from the $ 100 + could be spent in one of these special cables. I suspect that people who buy them believe in the Tooth Fairy, God and horoscopes as well.
