I have a Yamaha HTR-6040 AV receiver turns on and returns to standby mode within 3 seconds?
and not turn back on unless the cycle of cable power, I removed the cord from the surge protector and connected directly to the wall, still same problem, I checked to ensure that the impedance of a speaker is set to match the speakers, and I also made sure all my speakers where still connected properly, we're seeing just off the television and cable but the receiver, sub, TV and DVD all was. Anyone have any ideas?
This could be a short in the cable the speaker cable is usually a loss (as small as a single filament) touching the body receiver in the back where the speakers are connected. It could also be in the speaker side. Try reinstalling one by one until the receiver starts kicking again. Then check the wire from one end to a short.
