I am an AV Geek, and for thirty years, I've sweated the big things and small, as a producer of meetings, conferences, meetings and sales. During that time I developed a checklist of five special "secrets" I use to ensure that the media session to the right. Go right?

You see, the customer has paid much money for a video or multimedia piece that help people shake off the cobwebs (or hangover) and focused on achieving the objectives, spirit and business of the meeting. I want my client to love the video, and the only way that the client will love it if the audience loves it.

Well, you can bring in Christopher Walken in the air, and if the room is not good, the audience is distracted and that the major piece of genius the client will be hired through dozed ignored or poo-poo'd for reasons that have nothing to do with the quality of the media.

Everything is in the room. It is a group experience, and like in a movie theater, many things come together to make the right experience.

A Tip: Let the video is seen.

You have to create an experience theater. Using a television monitor, or even a large computer monitor to the public for more than 5 or 10 people is insane.

Video projectors are cheaper to rent or buy, and they help create the theater experience audiences expect. Remember, some members of the public may have rooms better home than the environment that creates.

Av Hotel Technology can help, or your personal av squad member can lend a hand. Home screens in the work of 4x6 meters for the crowds, if up to 25 people, after that you'll be looking at 6x8, or for much larger crowds, 12X16 'or larger (much larger than that and you are not reading this article anyway.)

Tip Two: The sound should be like "Big" like video.

This is true even if the meeting is just a sales call between you and a perspective in a closet-sized office. The sound is his secret weapon. The words should be understood, the music should be felt, and must be driven by emotions - like in the movies. Bring along portable speakers, or a larger meeting, rent a very good system stereo sound to ensure that your audience is wrapped in the words and music that you or your producer created.

Tip Three: Control of the lights.

Imagine a movie theater where they leave the lights on. Very strange, right? Now think about your meeting. To maximize the impact of their media, image that need to be seen, and his audience feel comfortable reacting to what's on screen. No space for a person feel self-conscious about laughing, clapping, or even mourn. Only in the anonymity of the darkened room, they really respond to your message and internalize its meaning. Shutter windows. Turn off fluorescent lights (which are a real murderer of the meeting). Gradually fade the lights of the room as the video starts.

Tip Four: Practice.

Run through the technical aspects of what we discussed. Know when the video was supposed to roll, when the PowerPoint is supposed to be played, and change practice dimming the lights, adjust the sound (volume and EQ), and switch between the inputs if necessary. It wants to be a hindrance rather than talk, and if you're behind the scenes, you do not want the speaker calls you for being asleep at the switch (which would be very nasty if left hanging with nothing to say or do, while the guy is walking av with the media in the back of the room.)

Tip Five: Use the effect of Letterman.

In short, chill in the room. David Letterman runs his studio at 60 degrees. The public supports his point. I'm not saying to keep it cold, but if you have more than 50 people, has an audience which is a Oven. Body Heat is real, and many bodies: a warm room. While the room feels comfortable for you at 7:00 am, at 8:00 am for attendees to be stifling, because he had not foreseen how the room is hot. A warm room means that spectators dream. Sleepy's not cheering spectators, not retain your message, not excited or enthusiastic, or may not even keep his eyes open. When walking into the room, feeling the room. Is it a bit cold for you? Good. Is it very comfortable? Bad. And do not wait until it gets too hot. When you need to lower the temperature, the hotel will not contact where they are, and even when they do so with the grace of his presence, it will take an hour of "cold" room. The walls retain heat. The same happens to people.

I know these tips will work since I discovered the real life experience. I've seen big media play poorly, because the curtains were open and the room was hot. I yelled for the presenter. I grope in the back while Mr. Rome burned.

But once adopted these five basic elements, things started going my way. The videos were the same, but suddenly, people were clapping.

That's what I call cheap insurance.
